My name is Warren Vincent Zobeck.

I am an industrial designer and an artist.

I received a Bachelors for Industrial Design from the Art Institute of Colorado in 2006. I don’t look to see if there is any differences between fine art and design in today’s culture so I don‘t set out to make my art that way either. design wants co-exists in my work and my work want to co-exist.

Everything I put on canvas derives from the work I put into my sketch book. I take it everywhere. Every where I go these sessions are daily occurrences of observing human life plotting human nature.

I view my painting as ‘expressionistic story-telling’ combining abstract thought with both abstract qualities and identifiable qualities. I paint with oil, acrylic and add other mediums such as, drawing with poster markers, spray paint and stencil work or simply masking the canvas.

When I paint with oils I incorporate still-life with life images like a human figure, a potted plant or a house fly. Usually in classical form I will paint on an isle or face up on saw horses. In the act of using other water based mediums such as acrylic my experience is explosive and full of energy. I tend to overlap and subtract and add more. My motives are also to explore more and deconstruct imagery while deconstructing subject matter.
